IIIITTTT'SSSS T-SHIRT TIME! Oh YEAHHHHH!!

All done with your GTL??  The trainwreck also known as Jersey Shore begins its third season TONIGHT!

Growing up we spent our summers in Seaside.  Our grandparents' house was in Seaside Park, but we hung out often in Seaside Heights.  I have so many great memories from there...we always had SO.MUCH.FUN.  Those of you from NJ know that it's changed, a lot...those not from NJ only know what you see on TV, which is definitely a scary way to gather the facts, lol.

It really isn't as bad as it seems on the show...at least, not on a weekday in the daylight hours.  Matter of fact, Bella's already been there several times.  Even though we spend our summers in Beach Haven West now, we still make several trips to Seaside to enjoy the great boardwalk they have.

Yeah, I said it...it's great.

Tons of rides, lots of yummy boardwalk (read: bad for you) food, and fun games and arcades.  Brings me back to when I was a kid...and I love watching it now through Bella's and my nieces' eyes.  Would I attempt it with a toddler on the weekends or at night?  Hell no.  But to those naysayers out there, enjoy Seaside and all its cheesiness during the week...you'll be happy you did.

Since it's a big night (between JS, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice and RHONJ - whenever that starts back up - our DVR pretty much blows up on Thursdays) I thought I'd make a special snack to enhance our TV viewing.  I made some changes to this recipe based on my taste, as well as what I had on hand.

So remember...MTV.  10pm.  And out-of-staters, don't judge.  Just watch.  And laugh.

Enjoy the show, you dirty little hamsters!

Rosemary and Brown Sugar Almonds
adapted from allrecipes.com

2.5 cups roasted unsalted almonds
1 T. dried rosemary
1 T. sea salt
1.5 T. butter, melted
1/3 cup brown sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Spread almonds across a baking sheet in a single layer and roast for 7 minutes.

Once out of the oven, sprinkle the rosemary and salt over the nuts.  Mix the butter and brown sugar together in a bowl and add the nuts to it.  Toss to coat, then spread them across the baking sheet again to dry.

Yum, tasty way to use up extra almonds. Thanks!
